Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda – Kigali Airport
Depending on the arrival time in the land of a thousand hills, you will be welcomed by a professional tour guide and take a tour around Kigali city, visit genocide memorials, local art and craft shops as well as local markets and interact with the local people. Later proceed to Volcanoes national park to the north of Ruhengeri through a striking terraced hillsides that shows much of Rwanda landscape and then step by step climb to the bottom of the extraordinary park. Dinner and overnight at Musanze or volcanoes Virunga lodge or in Ruhengeri hotel (FB).
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Experience,
Early morning benefit from a tasty breakfast at the lodge before your first exciting morning drive through the Switzerland of Rwanda Park that is too clear in the indigenous forest for gorilla trekking and draws one to the real side of natural beauty. The activity immerses you into the strange intimacy of the rain-forest plus a live call of colorful birds, the rare golden monkeys, as well as forest Elephants and Buffaloes. Have lunch at the lodge and later relax up at the lodge from the tiresome and exciting activity. Dinner and overnight at Musanze or Volcanoes Virunga lodge or in Ruhengeri hotel on a full board basis.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking, Evening Community Walk
Like the previous day, start with heavy breakfast and assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing about your second gorilla trek. You will be allocated to another gorilla group in your ability to track.
In the evening, we can take a community walk to Musanze town, visit local markets and interact with the local people. We can also visit Iby’wacu cultural village, all meals and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Optional morning visit before the return journey to Kigali
Past breakfast, take a visit to the golden monkeys or trek to Dian Fossey’s grave or hike to Mount Bisoke, return for lunch at the lodge and later leave for Kigali Airport to catch your flight back home.
