Safari Overview – 5 Day Rwanda safari
The 5 day safari takes you to Volcanoes National park to track the gorillas twice, climb Mt. Bisoke or track the rare golden monkeys and visit the Tombs of the late Dian fossey nestled between the beautiful peaks of Bisoke and Karisimbi.
Day 1: tour Around Kigali City
Past arrival and after having got in touch with our tour manager/tour guide, get on a Visit to Kigali genocide Memorial center referred to as the general exhibition ground of genocide in Rwanda, the only place where the genocide truth lies like historical Rwanda genocide story of 1994, catalogues with details of the genocide using photographs, video and written accounts plus a range of artifacts, personal testimonies then Memorial Gardens containing ten graves and National Documentation Centre of the Genocide all add to the importance of the deceased. Time permiting, we visit Nyamata and Ntarama genocide sites and local markets. After lunch, drive for 90 minutes to Volcanoes National Park for dinner and overnight at Virunga lodge / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Five Volcanoes Hotel, Villa Gorilla or Da Vinci Hotel.
Day 2: First Gorilla trekking
Past breakfast, you will be off for Volcanoes National Park headquarters where your guide will complete the essential official procedure for you. You will meet your ranger guide for a briefing about gorilla tracking activity to prepare you for the great life time experience of the natural beauty. Later, start with the first phase tracking in the tropical forest that will provide comfort to fill the natural cool breeze of park while spotting a number of animal species such as Monkey, forest Elephants and buffaloes. Retire for lunch and later visit the beautiful Twin lakes near the park then dinner and overnight at as on DAY 1.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trek in Volcanoes N.P
Enjoy a second gorilla tracking which aims at exhausting the different gorilla types than the one of the day before. By so doing, get a chance to track while identifying each gorilla by name in the gorilla group to the maximum that at the end of the day you can be able to know there differences and what brings such between the tracked groups. Have a bush or forest lunch while smelling the end of the activity, plus a relax evening to refresh you from the tiresome and most exiting activity that offers African answers of Tourism. Dinner and overnight at as on DAY 2.
Day 4: Hike To Dian Fossey Tombs or Mt. Bisoke
Early morning past calm down breakfast take a visit to the grave of the late Dian Fossey, the first white Gorilla Hero of Africa and an American primatologist get to learn how one can become a hero by listening to her history and struggle efforts to the gorilla lifestyle, and if possible you can even grab your copy of “Gorillas in the mist” a natural movie based on natural beauty of Africa rainy forests.
Alternatively, we can enjoy a half day hike to the beautiful Mount Bisoke. Retire for lunch and have a free leisure break, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Reserved for departure
Wake up in the morning after breakfast and depedning on your departure flight, we can do golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park (ends by mid day), then drive to Kigali to catch up with your flight back home which marks the end of your safari.
