Trip itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our safari guide and transferred to Akagera National Park, Eastern Rwanda which is approximately 2 and a half hours drive. On arrival, you will carry out a nature walk. Have lunch and in the afternoon, go for the canoe ride on Lake Ihema. This will reward you with views of water loving animals like Hippos, out-sized crocodiles and water birds like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge/ Umbrella Pine/Dereva Hotel.

Day 2: Game drive and transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast, you will go for the early morning game drive which will reward you with views of wildlife such as elephants, impala, black-tailed mongoose, hippos, oribi, bushbuck, antelope, zebra, cape eland, giraffe, buffalo, and also primates like the olive baboon, vervet monkey, bush baby. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the late afternoon, drive back to Kigali to be dropped off at your preferred hotel or transferred to the airport in time for departure flight.
