Trip Itinerary:
Day 1: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
Arrival at Kigali International Airport, Rwanda – Be welcomed by our safari guide – Transfer to Volcanoes National park (Home of Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda). Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Deluxe) or Muhabura Hotel (Budget).
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
The days starts with an early breakfast at the lodge. Our guide will drive you to Kinigi, home to Volcanoes National Park Offices, where you are to get briefed about gorilla tracking before commencing the trek into the jungles. Gorilla tracking in PNV is a once in a life time experience and you should be ready for it.
After getting assigned to a particular group, start off your trek, guided by local tour guides and rangers. The time for the trek is unpredictable. Experience shows that the trip takes from a mere hike of 1 hour to a full day hike within the forest. upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you have up to one hour to watch them in the wild. Afternoon relaxation. Dinner and overnight at your previous Lodge.
Day 3: Travel from PNV to Nyungwe Forest
Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park (Home of chimpanzees in Rwanda) – Transfer view the beautiful Lake Kivu- Proceed to the park for dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury), Peace Guest House (Deluxe) or Gisakura Guest House (Budget).
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking – afternoon relaxation. Dinner and overnight at your previous Lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali for dinner and overnight at Manor Hotel (Luxury), Hotel Chez Lando (Deluxe) or Step Town Hotel (Budget).
Day 6: Cross to Uganda – Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park – afternoon relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Enganzi Lodge (Deluxe) or Bush Lodge (Budget).
Day 7: Morning Game drive – afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Dinner and overnight at your previous Lodge.
Day 8: Return to Kigali Airport – evening departure
