This 2 Days gorilla tour takes you to Bwindi Forest National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining population of the endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi Forest is home to nearly half of the total remaining population of the mountain gorillas. Bwindi became a national park in 1992 and became recognized as a world heritage site in 1994. In the local Lukiga language, the word ‘Bwindi’ means impenetrable. ‘Bwindi Impenetrable is apt for Bwindi is all but impenetrable.   But if the terrain is far from easy to negotiate, it is well worth the effort. A trek through Africa’s most ancient rainforests, in search of the endangered mountain gorilla, ranks among the world premier wildlife encounters.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You will be picked up from your hotel by our company guide from the Kanombe Airport. If have time visit  the Kigali Genocide Memorial site located within Kigali city, built in commemoration of the Rwandan genocide in 1994. After a brief tour of the site, embark on your journey to Bwindi located in the south western part of Uganda. You will reach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp, Buhoma Community Bandas or Gift of Nature.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Wake up early in the morning, and get prepared for the most stimulating activity of gorilla tracking within Bwndi Impenetrable Forest.  Bwindi has ten habituated gorilla groups and you will track the gorillas within one of the habituated group. Our guide will drive you to the ranger station before 8:00am with your lunch box and all the required gear! After getting briefed the guides will lead you to track the mountain gorillas, possibly one of the most exhilarating wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi is unpredictable ranging from 2 to 6 hours! After the trek, embark on a return trip to Kigali with a drop off at the airport or a hotel in Kigali.
