Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Parc Nationale Des Volcanoes
On arrival at the Kigali international Airport, our guide will pick you and transfer you to Kigali, the Capital of Rwanda. Take a city tour of Kigali including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, Local Markets, and More. Have an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel / Luxury Hotel Rwanda.
Day 2: Travel to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, embark on a drive to Ruhengeri in Northern Rwanda. This is the region where the Parc Nationale des Volcanoes, home to the mountain gorillas lies. Check into your lodge. There are lots of optional activities you can engage in the evening; you can take a local community tour, take a hike to the nearby volcanoes, visit a local farm or plantation for agritourism, or just relax at your lodge! Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking
After breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters where you will meet the ranger guides. After the briefing about gorilla tracking, begin your hike into the forest and search for the endangered mountain Gorillas that live within the forest. The guided walk involves tracking a particular gorilla group and you will be assigned the particular group to hike from the park headquarters. The trek can be quite tough and therefore you need to be strong and ready to hike for some time. Most treks range from approximately 1-8 hours of hiking and after meeting the mountain gorillas, you have up to 1 hour to watch them in the wild. After the trekking, return to the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer Back to Kigali
After breakfast, transfer back to Kigali. Our guide will drop you at your preferred hotel or specified address or at the airport for your onward flight.
