This 5 Days tour takes you to Volcanoes National Park and Akagera National Park. Go gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park and enjoy game viewing in the Akagera National Park.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Akagera

Meet and greet with our tour guide at the Kigali International airport. Our tour guide will drive you to the Eastern part of Rwanda to Akagera National Park. On arrival at the park you will do an afternoon game drive through the park. On the drive you may see various wild animals that include Giraffes, Buffaloes, Spotted Hyenas, Elephants, Crocodiles, Hippos and plenty of bird life. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Game drive and a boat ride on Lake Ihema

Take an early breakfast and then embark on a morning game drive where you may spot various wild animals including the ealy risers and feeders. After the drive return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter go for a boat ride on Lake Ihema. During the boat cruise, you will spot various water animals most especially the hippos which are mostly spotted on a recreation point known as Rwanda school of hippos and crocodiles. You will also be able to see other water based animals as well as land animals that come for a drink at the cool waters. There are also different bird species, crocodiles and also variety of Reptiles that can be seen at the shores of the lake. Retreat at your lodge and have a relaxing evening. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge

Day 3: Travel to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast our guide will drive you to Ruhengeri in Northern Rwanda. This is the region where the Parc Nationale des Volcanoes, home to the mountain gorillas lies. Check into your lodge. There are lots of optional activities you can engage in the evening; you can take a local community tour, take a hike to the nearby volcanoes, visit a local farm or plantation for agritourism, or just relax at your lodge! Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters where you will meet the ranger guides. After the briefing about gorilla tracking, begin your hike into the forest and search fir thr endangered mountain Gorillas that live within the forest. The guided walk involves tracking a particular gorilla group and you will be assigned the particular group to hike from the park headquarters. The trek can be quite tough and therefore you need to be strong and ready to hike for some time. Most treks range from approximately 1-8 hours of hiking and after meeting the mountain gorillas, you have up to 1 hour to watch them in the wild. After the trekking, return to the lodge.

Day 5: Kigali City Tour – Departure

Have breakfast and drive to Kigali. Go for a city tour; visit the museum, the genocide memorial, site and other cultural sites. Have lunch and transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Our guide can as well drop you at your preferred hotel or specified address.
